Commissioning a piece of furniture
Existing designs depicted on this platform can be purchased at any time and are made to order. Each piece can be customized in its size, material, and finish. All orders are initiated by emailing furniture@kierstinsiegl.com.
Commissioning a new design is a great way to personalize your home and craft a space to fit your family’s needs. If you have an idea for a new piece of furniture, reach out via email and we can begin a collaboration. The process for commissioning new work is as follows:
I do a pencil sketch, price estimate and approximate timeline (free of charge) based on an initial email or phone conversation about your idea.
If you’re interested in moving ahead with the piece, I charge a $200 design fee (subtracted from the project total) to produce a digital model and make revisions to the design until we agree on a final form.
Once you’re happy with the design, I’ll issue a purchase agreement and you can place a deposit to secure your spot on the calendar.
Timing for all projects is subject to my production schedule and the complexity of your order. Projects are booked to the calendar with payment of the deposit.
Payment and delivery - All orders require a deposit equal to 50% of the total to reserve their space on the calendar, with the remaining balance due upon completion of work. Items can be delivered within the greater Chicago area for an additional charge or can be shipped to locations outside of Chicago at the client’s expense. A 15% discount is available for design professionals.
Material samples can be prepared for any project. The cost of samples is included in the design fee for commissioned new designs, though samples for existing designs can be purchased individually.
